End of Term 3 Reflection (Word Cloud)

My three favourite experiences this term were:

1. Volleyball- because I liked learning about how to play Volleyball.
2. LitM- because I quite enjoyed running workshops.
3. Pet Day- because I love looking at other peoples pets.
This term I have learnt how to play Volleyball at HPC.
Something I would like to change from the term was Cross Country because I got a cut in my foot!
My goal for next term is to complete some milestones.

Volleyball

For about three weeks my class has been going down to HPC to learn about Volleyball and how to play. There are 8 teams with three different coaches for each of them. In my team there has, Ella, Alexa, Luke, Finn, Callum, Neo and Layla. We won 4 and lost 3. My coaches were Paige, Morgan and Josh.  I learnt how to serve, dig and set. Something that our team needed to work on was to call for the ball because people are running into each other or leaving the ball. At the end of the tournament we had a mini prize giving and our coaches called out our names to come and collect a certificate. Then we did special awards and I got Most Improved. My goal was to learn more about Volleyball and I achieved that goal! It was a very enjoyable moment spending time at the college learning how to play Volleyball.

The Royal Easter Show

The first week of the holidays on the Friday I went to the Easter Show in Auckland. We had to leave early in the morning to get there at the Easter Show at a reasonable time. When we got to the Easter Show I meet Ella there and I watched her show her calf in the Supreme Champion ring. Then we walked around and had a look at the animals that were around us. My favourite animal was the baby chickens and the donkeys. I saw big pigs, and chickens were wondering around the place.

Then when we went outside I saw all of these scary rides and all of these games. Ella and I did a few games and won a few plushies and then we went to buy some coupons for the rides. The first ride we went on was a ride that you sit in a little cart and you spin around and go up and down. There were big long arms that connected to the carts. Once the ride finished Ella and I got off the ride and we were so dizzy that I just about fell down the stairs. After that ride I did not fell very well and was dizzy for the rest of the day. Then we saw what looked like a ride that was indoors. We lined up in the line waiting for a little cart. The ride was called The Ghost Train. We gave the man our coupons and sat in a cart.

We went through these large iron doors and when they shut, there was a loud CLUNK. Ella jumped in fright! As soon as we went to go outside something squirted on us and it gave us a fright! When we got of the darkness it was so bright that it hurt my eyes. Then we decided to have some lunch because we were all hungry. Ella and I got fish ’n chips from LJS. For fish ‘n chips and a drink it cost $10.00. After lunch I felt really full and did not feel well still. I saw a big blow up entrance that said Cadbury's. We were wondering what it was so we headed that way. At the entrance I saw a stand with these little cards that cost $2.00. The lady told us what to do when we find what we need to find.

As soon as we got inside the maze it started to rain so I had to put my puffer jacket on. First we had to find the Easter Bunny stamp. We went around looking for it and we finally found it. I lined up and waited for my stamp. When I got it the next thing that a had to look for was the Easter Egg. I found a long line and everyone was coming back with the Easter Egg stamp. When Ella and I lined up a lady had her umbrella up because it was raining through the maze and when she was putting her umbrella down she poked me in the eye and did not say sorry. I finally got the second stamp and got out of the huge lined that went for a couple of meters. Ella and I found a different coloured mat on the ground so we followed it and of course there was a big line and as soon as I saw the  line and I knew that I had got the last stamp. I lined up in the line and when it was my turn the lady took my stamp card and replaced it for a Cadbury’s car, a chocolate egg with Smarties in it and a little box of mini chocolate eggs. Ella and I were surprised and we decided to save them for Easter time so that we had more chocolates to eat at Easter time.

When we got out of the maze Ella saw this Fun Factory place and we headed our way to that. It costed 4 coupons so we handed our coupons to the man and went inside. I had to go up these stairs that moved and through these string things. At the end we had to take our shoes off and put them down a shoe shoot and then we went down a slide that was quite long. Then there were these clown games that you had to put these plastic balls in the clowns mouth to get a number. My number was 24 so I got to pick a prize. I got a few pencil’s.

I still felt kind of sick and dizzy so I did not eat much but after a few minutes I felt alright. Then, we walked around to find what we were going to do next. There was a Westpac helicopter going to take off so we headed over to the helicopter. It was really windy because it was getting ready to take off so people had to hold their hats. One person's hat went flying over to the ASB stand and luckily they court it for him. After the helicopter took off we donated some money and my mum bought a mini Westpac helicopter.

Then, I saw a big tent and I wanted to go inside and have a look. We made or way to the tent and people were bursting out of it. I thought that we were not going to get inside but we did and it was really hard to move around. One lady was not being very patient and pushed me into a stand of jewelry. Luckily I did not break any or I would have had to pay for them! Then, I could smell something and we all followed the smell. It was an ice cream place. There were oreo ice cream, jaffa ice cream every flavour of ice cream that you could imagine! I got a oreo ice cream and it was so yum!

Then, we had only three tickets left so we went on our last ride of the day. It was a ride that spun around really fast and then spun around backwards really fast. As Ella and I were lining up we were sweating and nervous about what was going to happen. When we sat in our carts Ella gave her glasses to the man and he gave Ella’s glasses to my mum. Then, the ride started and it went quite slow. Five minutes into the ride it started to go faster. I got really dizzy and it was so blurry. Then, it stopped and went backwards really fast. Ella and I were screaming so loud that it made everyone else scream.

After that ride we had to drop off Ella back at the calf club section. I did not want Ella to go but she had to because she had more showing to do. We got home at about 8:00p.m and I was very tired and still dizzy. I decided to have a shower and go straight to bed.

Airless Tires For Your Bicycle

Six years ago Bridgestone released new airless tires. Can you believe it!? This allows the rider to stay put on the bicycle and you don’t need to worry about pumping it up and flat tires! They should hopefully see more development with the new tires which will be on the pedal-power and the two wheeled steeds.

Silver Ferns

WOW! The Silver Ferns have won the Quad serious! Isn’t that amazing! I think it is. They won 57-47 to Australia in the world champs and four days ago they had a loss 49-45 to England. Well, a loss isn’t to bad now and then isn’t it?

The Silver Ferns are going to play three test series against England again on Thursday! I hope they win!!!

Cavemen

One day I randomly saw cavemen walking around town. They were even shopkeepers too! I don’t know if I’m dreaming or not but I pinched myself anyway.

These cavemen are the cavemen that you would usually read about in a faction book. They were everywhere, I’m telling you! When I walked past the Hilson’s Range forest there were cavemen that looked like they were having a party or something!

I thought it was kinda funny but I don’t know about anyone else. I spose, they were nice. They are not harmful but it’s kind of creepy when you see cavemen walking around everywhere. Would you think it’s creepy if you saw cavemen walking in town? I wouldn’t!Do you know how cavemen were in the old days? Well, they still are in life.

Summertime

The beach is hot and blooming with people. I see people putting sunblock on and sprinting to the ocean. The bright yellow sun shining onto the golden sand. Waves crashing onto the beach and poking out of the sea are these big fat islands covered with trees.

People on their surf boards having a good time. Children making sand castles and playing with buckets and spades. A group of adults playing a game of volleyball. Dogs running around everywhere fetching frisbees and sticks.

It’s a nice day at the beach!

How to make a pom pom.

I am going to teach you how to make a pom pom.

1. You need to have a donut shaped template. If you don’t you can make one out of cardboard. Make sure that you make two so that it is thick.

2. Hold the template and gently wrap the wool around the template making sure that you can’t see the cardboard. If you want your pom pom to look big and thick you need to add a few layers of wool.

3. Once you have done step two put your thumb in the hole of the template. Then with your scissors cut around the edge of the wrapped pom pom gently.

4. Separate the templates a little bit making sure no wool falls out and tie the string in the middle of the template.

5. Gently pull the template off the pom pom and adjust your pom pom a bit so that it is round. It doesn’t matter if a few pieces of wool come out. If you want, you can cut the pom pom to make it shorter.

My Story Starter

In the sweltering depths of the misty marsh, it lay there. Waiting.

The eye was as green as grass in a garden on a summer day, but much more deadly. It was speckled with gold, like the brightest stars shimmering in the sky at night, but much more deadly.

As if in a peaceful slumber, the creature stretched itself out, scales covering its body from snout to tail.

It lay there, waiting… As still as a lamp post ready to catch its prey. Its big green eye blinked when it heard its prey scuttering around in the grass. It prey was a light brown with fluffy fur and little yellowish eyes. Big tall furry ears sprung out from the top of its head.

Weekly Reflection

This week I have achieved one of my goals that were on my Mi Plan. My goal was to work on my Maths Profile and reflect on my goals. I enjoyed working with Moana-nui because it was a bit of a change and it was something different.

This week I created an awesome character description with Ella and Imogen about Super Imogen. I had fun doing the Kahoot quiz with Ella and Imogen because Imogen was helping us with what movies they were. The learning powers I have used this week are Resilience and Being Me. Imogen in from Moana-nui and she is related to me.
