Weekly Reflection

This week I have achieved all of my Mangahigh tasks to a high standard. I made a good choice when I sat in the Quiet Zone after my Pronoun/Preposition meeting and I worked on my Mangahigh tasks. I also got gold on all of them! I learnt what pronouns and prepositions are in my meeting with Mrs Hull on Monday. My highlight of the week is when I completed all of my set Mangahigh tasks. It made me feel happy and want to get my next task completed!

Trees

Why do people cut down trees? Why do we need trees? Well, I’m here to tell you why we need to have trees.

First of all, if we did not have trees everything and everyone will die. I, personally don’t think people have the right to cut down trees because it will affect the percentage of our New Zealand bushes. Ok, let me say it again. I’m here to tell you about trees. Trees give the earth oxygen and keeps everyone alive.

Secondly, trees are part of nature and animals from above live in them. Where would birds live if we did not have any trees? Well, they would have to live in bushes or inside the roofs of houses. Not good at all!

Thirdly, what would the world look like if there were no trees left? I’ll tell you, it would look very bare and boring. Trees don’t just give out oxygen, they make our world look bright and beautiful! One last thing, trees don’t just produce oxygen, they reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. We need trees for a reason, that's to help everything stay alive and keep healthy.

Todays days, I see numbers of logging trucks going past with tons of logs on them. Seven million hectares of forest trees are cut down a year. Thirty-five percent of the trees are cut down to make paper.

If we did not have oxygen, the world would not be the place that it is today that's why people should not be cutting trees down. I know, I know people cut trees down to design things but come on, you can make it out of tin or something!

The thing is, what would then happen if they was no wood in the world because they stopped cutting down trees? What would people do? Well, there is a chance that the population of wood would go up in price. Again, please don’t cut down trees if it is not necessary.

Patient

We wait for our our ice creams in a long line. I am very patient and don’t whine to my mother.

Weekly Reflection

My next steps in Mangahigh are attempting my tasks more. I enjoyed doing PE because I like running the block run. I had fun when I was playing Master at play time because Master is one of my favourite ball games. This week I wondered about bananas because I’m doing another IE on bananas and I want to find out more about bananas.

Weekly Reflection

Something new I would like to try is running a workshop for Whenua. I found Cross Country training challenging this week because the game Jet Ball that we played was quite hard. I enjoyed working on my Learning in the Making 2017 Workshop Planning because I am really excited about running some workshops. I need to practice my multiplication because I have been getting bronze instead of gold on Mangahigh.
